The NSW Government today announced the payment of $69 million in funds to Blacktown City Council to contribute towards building local infrastructure for the Riverstone community.

Member for Riverstone Kevin Conolly said funding provided by the government will be used to directly support current and future residents in Riverstone area.

"Thanks to funding from the Government, we will continue to support the delivery of local road upgrades that will benefit the local community in Riverstone and surrounding suburbs," Mr Conolly said.

Minister for Planning and Housing, The Hon. Anthony Roberts, said the funding, granted by the Local Infrastructure Growth Scheme, will help provide infrastructure needed for growing communities.

"Today we are releasing more than $69 million to Blacktown City Council in order to assist in building local infrastructure for local communities," Minister Roberts said.

"This is one of the many ways in which the NSW Government is working with local councils to provide funding for infrastructure which will be used to benefit local communities."

The funds will be used to deliver local infrastructure for the following areas within the Blacktown City Council, including:

Jerralong Drive, connecting Schofields Railway Station to Alex Avenue;
Construction of a water retention basin near Railway Terrace and Jerralong Drive;
Upgrade of Rouse Road and construction of Rouse Road Bridge worth a combined $4.2m (between Worcester and Terry roads) over Second Ponds Creek (where there are flooding issues).
