JOINT MEDIA RELEASE - OLD WINDSOR ROAD UPGRADE

Roads and Maritime Services is widening Old Windsor Road from two to three lanes in each direction between Seven Hills Road, Seven Hills and Norbrik Drive, Bella Vista.

Member for Seven Hills, Mark Taylor MP and Member for Riverstone, Kevin Conolly MP welcomed the announcement.

"Widening Old Windsor Road will ease congestion for commuters who daily travel along the corridor. The upgrade will particularly benefit residents of Seven Hills and Kings Langley," said Mr Taylor.

"The pinchpoint between Seven Hills Road and Norbrik Drive is an issue for Riverstone constituents. The upgrade will improve traffic flow for commuters travelling to and from work," Mr Conolly said.

Works begin Monday, 11 February 2019 and will take around 12 months to complete, weather permitting. Roads and Maritime Services will work day and night shifts to reduce traffic disruption and safety issues for workers.

Noise barriers along Old Windsor Road will minimise the impact of noisy tasks.

Consultation was held in 2017 with the local community, Blacktown City Council and The Hills Shire Council. More information can be found at rms.work/widenoldwindsor.

Any questions relating to the upgrade can be answered by the project team at pinchpoint@rms.nsw.gov.au or 1800 573 004.
