Member for Riverstone, Kevin Conolly MP, today urged community sporting organisations to take advantage of the latest round of the Local Sport Grant Program offered by the NSW Government.

"Much of the work done in our community organisations is on a voluntary basis so every dollar counts. These grants provide some assistance to help organisations to continue this valuable work across our local communities," Kevin Conolly said.

As applications for the NSW Sport grants program will close soon on this Friday 6 October 2017, Mr Conolly is urging local sporting clubs to apply for these much needed and appreciated funds. The program provides $50,000 to be shared amongst grassroots sports club projects in the Riverstone electorate, with individual grants of up to $20,000 available.

"Whether it be funding towards training programs to secure more volunteer coaches or helping with that much-needed change room upgrade, these grants are designed to encourage more people to keep active," said Mr Conolly.

There are four project types within the Program:
Sport Club Development;
Community Sport Events;
Sport Access; and
Facility Development and Capital Equipment.

"I strongly encourage all local community sports clubs to submit their applications before the closing date of 6 October 2017," said Mr Conolly.
