Kevin Conolly MP, Member for Riverstone, has announced that motorists will soon travel on wider, safer lanes on Richmond Road between Townson Road and South Street at Marsden Park, with new lanes scheduled to open to traffic from Thursday 24 December.

"The work forms part of a NSW Government funded $96 million upgrade of Richmond Road between Townson Road and north of Garfield Road West to increase road capacity and improve safety in the North West Priority Growth Area," Kevin Conolly said.
"With work on track, motorists will soon enjoy travelling on all four of the new lanes between Townson Road and South Street ahead of Christmas, from 5am Thursday 24 December, weather permitting.
Roads and Maritime Services is continuing to deliver stage two of the upgrade with a series of night shifts also planned between Tuesday 15 December and Wednesday 10 February 2016 from 8pm to 5am excluding Saturdays, weather permitting.
Work will take 10 night shifts to complete and include stormwater drainage work, utility installations, road surfacing and line marking.
Access for residents and motorists will be maintained while this work is carried out.
Traffic control and signs will be in place to help direct motorists and electronic message signs will display any changes to work dates and times.
Motorists may experience minor delays during this work due to these changed traffic conditions and they requested to plan ahead, allowing extra time for their journeys and adhering to the reduced speed limit.
"I thank the community in advance for their patience while the work is carried out" Kevin Conolly said.
Work on Richmond Road upgrade from Townson Road and north of Garfield Road West is well underway and expected to be completed in late 2016.
