NEW LANES OPEN AT BOUNDARY ROAD AND SCHOFIELDS ROAD INTERSECTION
Written on the 11 April 2016 by Kevin ConollyState Member for Riverstone, Kevin Conolly MP advises that a new section of Schofields Road is opening on 18 April. This is the latest progress in the $340 million Schofields Road upgrade. The new section is near the intersection of Boundary Road at Schofields.
"The NSW Government is funding this project to progressively upgrade Schofields Road to four lanes between Windsor and Richmond roads, improving commuter capacity along this key east-west corridor in Sydney's north-west," Mr Conolly said.
There will be some noise associated with this work, but every effort will be made to minimise the impact on residents. To ensure the safety of workers, road users are advised to allow extra travel time, follow the direction of traffic controllers and keep to the reduced speed limits where in place.
With the region expected to expand by around 200,000 residents in the next 20-30 years, NSW Government is building roads now to increase traffic efficiency and reduce congestion for Sydney's growing outer north-west.The Schofields Road Upgrade project is expected to be completed in mid-2018, weather permitting.
