Hundreds of families across Riverstone will benefit from the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government's record investment in education, with a brand new primary school at Tallawong announced today.

Member for Riverstone Kevin Conolly explained that the new Tallawong primary school will be delivered along with other major infrastructure projects that are transforming the greenfields site into a thriving local community.

In addition, Mr Conolly announced that Glenwood High School will receive a major upgrade to remove demountables, provide more places for local students in new air conditioned classrooms and upgrade core facilities at the school.

Mr Conolly said he was thrilled to secure these new projects for the growing community, in addition to the recently announced major upgrade at John Palmer Public School.

"This is great news for local families. We are ensuring that we have the top-quality school facilities our students need now and into the future," Mr Conolly said.

Education Minister Rob Stokes said the project is another example of the NSW Government delivering the school resources local students and their families deserve.

"Providing high-quality school buildings is an important way to provide our students with the best educational opportunities," Mr Stokes said.

The new primary school for the Tallawong Area and the major upgrade at Glenwood High School expands upon the NSW Government's record $6 billion school building program to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools. Locally major upgrades are already underway at Quakers Hill East, Riverbank and Schofields Public Schools and Riverstone High School, as well as new primary schools for the Alex Ave area and Marsden Park.

In addition to the record-breaking school building program, the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government has committed an unprecedented investment to eliminate the school maintenance backlog so that every public school in the State provides the world-class facilities that our students and teachers deserve.
