Written on the 16 February 2016 by Kevin Conolly

Member for Riverstone, Kevin Conolly MP today announced that essential road works which commenced last night, Monday 15th on Richmond Road at Marsden Park will continue through to Wednesday 24th February and advises motorists to note the changed traffic conditions.

"I wish to thank motorists and residents in advance for their patience and understanding while this essential road work is being carried out" said Kevin Conolly MP.

The work forms part of the NSW Government funded $96 million Richmond Road upgrade between Townson Road and north of Garfield Road West to increase road capacity and improve safety in the North West Priority Growth Area.

Work to deliver this important project is progressing with essential night work to be carried out between Townson Road and Elara Boulevard for 10 shifts between Monday 15 February and Tuesday 24 May from 8pm to 5am, excluding Saturdays and weather permitting.

Work to be carried out will include storm water drainage improvements, utility installations, road surfacing work and line marking.

Access will be maintained for residents and motorists while work is under way.

Motorists may experience minor delays during work due to the changed traffic conditions. To ensure the safety of workers and motorists road users are advised to allow extra travel time, follow the direction of traffic controllers and keep to the reduced 40 km/h speed limit.

To help direct motorists electronic message signs along the road will display changes to traffic conditions and work dates and times.

Work on Richmond Road upgrade from Townson Road and north of Garfield Road West is well underway and expected to be completed before the end of the year.
