Written on the 29 October 2015 by Kevin Conolly

Nominations for the NSW/ACT Young Achiever Awards are now open and we want our local young achievers to be recognized.

Member for Riverstone, Kevin Conolly encourages residents to nominate a local young person up to the age of 29 for the NSW/ACT Young Achiever Awards.

"We have so many young people doing a great deal to make our community a better place to live. I encourage individuals, businesses and community organisations/groups to nominate a great young role model who is making a real difference. It would be great to see our community well represented in these prestigious Awards" said Mr Conolly.

Nominations are being sought until Monday 7 December 2015 in the following categories:

  • Arts and Fashion Award
  • Career Kick Start Award
  • Community Service Award
  • Environment and Sustainability Award
  • Aboriginal Education Award
  • Leadership Award
The Awards will culminate with a Gala Presentation Dinner on Friday 1 April 2016 at the SMC Conference and Function Centre in Sydney.

All category winners will receive $2,500 and a trophy. One of the seven category winners will be chosen as the NSW/ACT Overall Young Achiever of the Year and will win an additional $5,000 and a state trophy. All nominees will receive a certificate of achievement for their extraordinary commitment to their chosen field of endeavour.
