NSW GAS REBATE EXTENDED TO LPG

Written on the 21 June 2016 by Kevin Conolly

Member for Riverstone, Mr Kevin Conolly MP, has welcomed the announcement by the NSW Government that the State's $90 Gas Rebate will now include household Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Mr Conolly said the extension of the Gas Rebate will help many families across the Riverstone electorate.

From 1 July 2016, vulnerable customers not connected to the gas distribution network who use Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) as a key fuel source for heating, cooking and powering their hot water systems will now be eligible for assistance, just as those on piped gas are already.

Other measures which will continue to be funded include:

$235 Low Income Household Rebate;

$150 Family Energy Rebate (or $15 if the eligible household also qualifies for the Low Income Household Rebate);

$90 gas rebate for households connected to the natural gas distribution network; and

Specialist rebates for customers with increased electricity needs for medical equipment under the Life Support and Medical Energy Rebates.

Eligible customers only need to apply to the NSW Division of Resources and Energy to access the rebate from 1 July 2016.
