Written on the 4 August 2014 by Kevin Conolly

The Australian Sikh Association held a 48 hour prayer vigil at the Gurudwara at Glenwood for the victims of MH17 tragedy and in particular for the Australian citizens and permanent residents involved.
The Sikh community was demonstrating its solidarity with and compassion for innocent people who became the victims of lawless violence. The prayer vigil was also a demonstration of the concern of the Sikh community for other Australians of whatever heritage.
At the event the Prime Minister was represented by Concetta Ferravanti-Wells, the Premier by Mr Kevin Conolly MP Member for Riverstone and the State Opposition Leader by Hon. Peter Primrose MLC. These three dignitaries delivered messages of condolence and appreciation for the initiative taken by the Australian Sikh Association.
