Kevin Conolly MP, Member for Riverstone welcomes the news that the NSW Government is funding the extension of the existing school zone on Jetty and Teague streets, The Ponds for John Palmer Public School to improve the visibility of the school zone signage.
Roads and Maritime Services will carry out the work which involves:
  • Extending the existing 40 km/h school zone on Jetty Street by 40 metres finishing before Sail Street
  • Extending the existing 40 km/h school zone on Teague Street by 25 metres
  • Upgrading existing school zone signage to ensure the speed limit is clearly displayed to all motorists.
Mr Conolly said 'The 40km school zone extension on Jetty and Teague streets is in addition to the existing school zones on The Ponds Boulevard and Pebble Crescent and will be operational from Tuesday 6 October.'
The work will be carried out on Tuesday 6 October, weather permitting and some of this work may be carried out in the evening between 6pm and 10pm.
Road users are asked to follow the direction of traffic controllers, adhere to reduced speed limits and follow traffic signs.
There will be some temporary traffic changes to make sure the work zone is safe.
